Did you know some have designated the second Friday of January as Quitter's Day?
This year it fell on January 9th.
That was ten days ago.
Have you quit your New Year’s resolutions yet?
Don’t condemn yourself if you have.
But can I suggest an adjustment in how you make decisions you will actually follow through with?
And this matters—because every time you don’t follow through on a decision, you train your brain to not follow through. 🤯
Genesis 12:8 says that Abraham, in search of the city whose foundations were built by God (for us, that’s the Kingdom of Heaven), pitched his tent facing the city of Bethel and against the city of Ai.
Why?
He was setting his vision in the direction of his goal.
Abraham’s goal was home. And in the original Hebrew language of the Bible, home is the same word as heart.
He was also setting his heart against Ai.
Ai means trash heap.
Yep.
Once finding the heart of God became his focus, Abraham could not focus on the trash heap—
the past, what was no longer serving him, and what was no longer adding quality to his life.
And simultaneously he magnified his future.
The promise.
God’s best for him.
God’s will for him.
God’s desire for Abraham.
Abraham’s desire for Abraham.
Hebrews 11:15 says,
“If they [the great heroes of the faith] had been thinking of that country from which they had gone out, they would have had opportunity to return.”
Don’t give yourself the option of returning by focusing on the past.
Burn the plows. (1 Kings 19:21)
I mentor leaders across the movement—women and men—on clarity, communication, and leadership presence.
And for women stepping into high-pressure lanes, I run UnstoppableXX, a mentorship space built specifically for female civic leaders, executives, and founders who want to lead with strength, strategy, and conviction.
If someone came to mind as you read this, feel free to share it with them.
Great leaders build other great leaders—and connection is where that starts.
Any goal worth pursuing allows us to pitch our tent in agreement with the heart, will, and intentions of God.
Put On; Put Off. (Eph. 4:22–24)The only process the Bible gives us for this type of life transformation is this: Because He always wants the best for us.
We put off the old man with his old wants and desires and put on the new man with his new wants and desires.
More specifically: put off the old focus that caused negative emotions that lured you into the trash heap and caused you to behave in ways that brought pain into your life.
You put on the new focus to create positive emotions that will draw you toward the goal.
You build up your desire to attain your goal through focus + emotions.
→ THIS: Jesus endured the cross by focusing on the prize, not the price.
His resurrection, not His suffering.
He kept His eye on the prize—
the mark of the high call of God on His life.
Paul said there is one thing he does: he forgets what lies behind and reaches for what lies ahead. (Phil. 3:13)
Set your heart.
Look at.
Focus on.
Long for.
Remembering dessert?
Loathing yourself for being fat and out of shape?
You’ll eat the cake and skip the workout.
Remembering the pain and fear of poverty?
Your RAS will willfully miss every opportunity to build wealth.
Or you’ll burn the wealth when you get it.
Burn your ship now or burn your promise later.
It’s your choice, not God’s.
God says He has placed before you a choice—life and death.
Eden or the apple.
God as your God or you as your god.
Decay or grow.
In your heart, burn every other option but living.
Because whatever you magnify, you get to keep.
And bonus—when you magnify God and His will for you, the most powerful thing happens:
Grace (God’s empowerment and enablement) comes forward in you to empower you to attain the prize with a strength that is not your own.
Here’s to getting 2026 to work!
And here’s some motivation to help you burn the ships:

Women like you who are done with the fluff, built for the fight, and ready to rebuild what culture broke.
Whether you grew up on mixtapes or memes, you know something’s off—and you’re not here to vibe your way through the apocalypse.
If you’ve got grit in your gut and a mandate on your life, you’re in the right place. We don’t echo here—we take ground.

Most people think consistency is a discipline problem—but it's actually a safety issue. Your brain won't build habits under threat, which is why pushing harder backfires. Learn why safety and agency are the real keys to lasting change, and the three simple steps to rebuild consistency from the ground up.

Most people don’t abandon their goals because they’re weak — they abandon them because they leave the option of returning to the life they said they’d leave. Abraham didn’t just believe God; he faced his tent toward the promise and away from the trash heap. Scripture calls this the “put off / put on” pattern of transformation: remove the escape path, activate desire toward the future. When you eliminate the option of quitting, momentum is no longer a mystery.

If you’ve ever stepped into a leadership role—civic, grassroots, elected, executive, or emerging—you already know this: . Your inbox is communicating. Your community is communicating. The culture is communicating. But here’s the paradox: In a world where everyone communicates, it's not the leaders who are that loudest that are actually heard.

My son-in-law took one look and said, “It looks like a fairy made it.” The name stuck. It’s light, sparkly, and just whimsical enough to make everyone smile. So now, it’s officially called Cranberry Pear Fairy Fluff—and it’s not leaving the holiday menu anytime soon. The tart cranberries, the sweet pears, the mini-marshmallow fun, and that spicy, ginger cookie crunch on top? It’s holiday magic in a bowl.

Many people interpret Paul’s words to mean we should enjoy pain, hardship, and persecution—as though being crushed is somehow the goal. But that’s not what Paul was saying at all. He wasn’t delighting in the pain. He delighted that grace met him in every position. His position looked like weakness to the world but from God’s perspective, Paul’s position hadn’t changed anything.

PHOENIX, AZ — Freedom Academy, a K–8 charter school known for defending childhood and restoring trust in education, announced today that it has officially signed the Pledge to Parents©, becoming the first school in the nation to do so. “The Pledge to Parents isn’t political—it’s principled,” said Christy Narsi, President of Freedom Academy. “Parents deserve schools that honor their role, will not lie about biological reality, and will educate—not indoctrinate. Signing this pledge wasn’t a new direction for us—it was simply putting in ink what’s already in our DNA, and what should be in the DNA in every school.”
